My 2008 F150 is now 17 years old. Are they going out that long now?

We obviously can't know until then, but the cost of keeping them on the road so far indicates no to me. We keep buying older stuff and driving as long as possible.
Quality control seems to have taken a massive shit since Covid too. So people are getting expensive vehicles that are falling apart off the lot. I've been forced back into this world since my older truck may not be repairable. It's grim out there. Even dealership used prices are absolutely laughable in many cases. Been watching many sit and fall for months.
I'm wanting something newer too... Looks like I need to find something pre covid.
That's where we are at. Absolutely nothing after 2020 at the moment. Or any CVT bullshit and certain engine tech. It's a massive rabbit hole if you want something that will last. I'm looking at just buying the exact same year I have now in the SUV version. I've seen one sitting on a lot for a while.
