"Nobody gets to unsubscribe from this power projection game."

Um...that's literally what technology is and always has been: a way to unsubscribe from that power projection game. Whether it's the ability to cook food, or carry heavy loads on wheels, or stay afloat on water, or fly through the air, or orbit the earth, or make new friends on different continents, or use open, unchangeable, permissionless money -- *all* of it is a way to gradually unsubscribe from the "power projection game" played by physics.

Lowery seems to think that technology is a way for us to rewrite the laws of physics as we blind idiots see fit. But in reality, technology is just a *leveraging* of the the unbreakable laws of physics, so we can escape more consequences of the unforgiving physical world.

Seems like you’re saying the same thing with different words though. I think the idea is that if you don’t increase your power projection by the use of technology you will be overwhelmed by the power projection of others.

To your example, if you choose not to cook your food while everyone else does, you will run on a calorie deficit with regards to your peers

Then you’ve obviously misunderstood what he’s saying
