I think many start not really knowing themselves, marry, and often start to discover they are living through another’s lens. This doesn’t mean it’s wrong, just a journey of discovery. Sometimes may actually lead to something more meaningful. Life isn’t straightforward, we are bound by many almost predestined life lessons to work through. The intertwined relationships of 2 families is a big journey also.
