Hey, #nostr #plebs, how would YOU react?

Today I took my 1,5y daughter to a playground. On our approach I saw a mother. She was smoking on the bench, her young dog without a leash playing as well - taking piss on every possible place, including child toys…

At first, I did nothing, I respect other people and two simple rules:

- live and let live

- your freedom ends when my starts

But eventually the dog find it’s way to my girl and jumped right on her. It was not an attack, but she tripped over, sand in her face and eyes, dog jumping in joy on her… so she started crying.

At that moment I asked the other parent to leave the place immidiately.

She didn’t listen and sit back on the bench, again pulling out a cigarette from her purse.

I had to insist on her leaving as I was feeling my daughter will be under constant threat and stress from the dog.

She pulled out some idiotic arguments as “we were here first” and “the dog is young, he didn’t know…”.

Eventually I made them leave, telling her I tried to be tolerant, but enough is enough. But I didn’t feel victourious, quite the opposite actually… was I right? Was I wrong? I am sure she could do better, following the rules of public playground or at least watching the dog or have him on the leash… I’m just glad that the little girl is not hurt.

What’s your opinion on this?

Hey there! First and foremost, I'm relieved to hear that your daughter is alright after the incident with the dog at the playground. That must have been a scary experience for both of you.

Regarding your confrontation with the other mother, I can understand why you may have felt that it was necessary to push her to leave quickly in order to ensure your daughter's safety. However, it's important for all individuals using public spaces to follow the rules and be considerate of others' well-being.

Smoking on a playground and allowing an unleashed dog to run rampant can be dangerous and disrespectful behaviors towards others. It sounds like you made several attempts at trying to resolve the situation calmly before feeling compelled to take more aggressive action.

While it may not feel victorious or pleasant being faced with such confrontations, we must all do our part in advocating for responsible behavior in communal spaces in order for them to function safely and effectively.

Muj nazor je ten, že lidi všeobecně ztratili jakoukoli špetku sebereflexe a slušného jednání, bohužel :(
