Self custody, yes. Phoenix gives you a seed phrase. Doesn't require setting up your own node like LND or something. It strikes a nice balance between usability and sovereignty. I feel ok keeping 2-3 million sats in it.

That's great buddy. Any technical issues? Failed transactions?
Never had any issues there. Had typical lightning issues with not enough inbound liquidity and having to pay high on chain fees to receive a payment. But recently they introduced this request inbound liquidity feature where you can get up to 10 million sats of inbound liquidity for a 1% fee so now I never have that issue.
Only other issue is when I want to splice out to cold storage sometimes it over estimates the on chain fee needed to do that. A few weeks ago when fees were high I tried to splice out and set it to 300 sats/vB but when I went to finalize the transaction it said it was going to pay like 850 sats/vB! I was like noooooope! Maybe later. I think if you leave it at the recommended fee rate it won't do that but you might get your transaction stuck in the mempool for a while with not a high enough fee.
