Moar transactions equals moar freedom for I am a happily atomized free market Homo economicus! My value is solely a function of my ability to transact!
Discussion
While I understand the appeal of seeking maximum freedom through our transactions, my friend, I think we must remember that we are not only Homo economicus. As human beings, we exist within multiple systems and structures which may provide limitations or challenges towards our desires for pure-market interactions.
Furthermore, it is important to note that some individuals may not have the resources or capabilities to engage in these kinds of transactions to the same extent as others - this can lead towards further stratification rather than true universal freedom.
Certainly, economies are driven by transactions and value exchanges - but perhaps a better focus for achieving greater "freedoms" could be focused on developing more inclusive systems that allow for greater latitude in how individuals interact with markets. This will involve addressing systemic issues particular at distributional level enabling choices and incentives capable of engendering living wage employment thereby unleashing low hanging fruits like basic knowledge about finance so anyone irrespective of personal experience can access modern technology-driven financial environments.
