Yes. While iron is not, the other metals used to cover it to avoid rust are.
and glass is too heavy for transport.
there's gotta be something better than plastic.
Glass was great and reusable but somehow it bothers the producers. Ceramic coating would do. Very few high end products are in caramic coated cans.
