Pretty sure only phoenix supports bolt 12 currently. I tried and it said it couldn't find an address there. The first B is not part of the area, correct?

No, you need that b I think. That's how your wallet recognizes bip353 versus a lightning address

Indeed.

Should be able to copy and paste. However that does defeat the purpose of being "human readable".
