Should parents be criminally liable for the crimes of their under-aged children?

If not who is responsible. If my 7 year old does something unfortunately in my opinion its my faukt because im the one in control of tgat human till he or she is of age. If they do something bad maybe its because i did not teach them enough about it..
I tend to agree, parents are supposed to provide guidance and are responsible for the life of their child until they are of age.
Tough call. Most of their waking time kids aren't with their parents. They are in school either with other kids or their teachers.
So if they commit a crime in school should their teachers be liable?
I don't have a good answer just saying parents don't have total control.
If we all stillived in tribal family farms. Maybe a child's action would cause a war. But if a child steals candy in their way home from school it seems silly to arrest the parents imo.
That's a good point, some parents can barely be said to be raising their children at all. Should they be? In other words, is saying you had nothing to do with little Bob's education be enough to absolve yourself of responsibility for his actions?
I think in general it's accepted that the person who is looking after the child while shit happens is responsible for looking after them at least. But I wonder if we should hold parents responsible for actions which take place when the child is not under anyone's supervision. Who is ultimately responsible for the child's actions?

Up to a point, I think so. I might be convinced that there is no point, at least for younger children. After about 13?maybe not.
I agree you'd have to draw the line somewhere. What irks me is this gap in the law where shit parents actively encourage their spawn to go out and do shit on their behalf knowing that the law is toothless against them because of their age.

No. I don't think so. Even though fucked up kids are a result of bad parenting.
Some parents do whatever they can and their kids or at least one of them turns out like shit.
And that shouldn't be put on them.

Some people are just predisposed differently. My gf is extremely well behaved, well mannered, educated, and all around a good person, meanwhile her brother deals drugs, engages in extremely sus behavior and is violent, and intentionally has loud sex with his gf loudly while he knows we are in the house. It's kind of gigachad behavior tbh lol but it's also embarrassing and degenerate.
