There’s way less incentive to run the original federal government than there is now. It was way less corrupt then. You can make generational wealth selling out as president now.

But actions caused it to arrive at this point. It didn't get to this out of thin air but as a result of actions of individuals. So at the end of the day, the integrity of the person matters irrespective of the timeline
