13 years is a long stretch, most of the time that would be for murder, and 13 years means he was well behaved

i can't think of another way to explain such a long separation, since it wasn't a divorce

i hope it was a case of self defense in a jurisdiction that doesn't distinguish between murder and self defense

Lol Dude!

No, it wasn't any of that.

He just got stuck in one of the gulf countries with shit loads of fines after his residency expired then COVID came and killed his last hope to go back home unless bailed out by someone. Unlike UAE which forgives fines, Oman doesn't.

fuckin shithole countries

wasn't exactly hard to sell the idea of getting out of them, was it?

i came from a shithole country but they just used market manipulation to price people out of going elsewhere

i had my dutch papers at age 27 but i didn't leave until 36 because i was trying to get a job to save the money to do it

eventually i just "cheated" the consumption tax system to get the money and fucked the hell right outta there, and yes, i spent a lot of time homeless and even did a year in jail in bulgaria but that was more freedom than i had in australia

The guy has been stuck since 2017 for merely $4k exit fee.

Ofc he was trying to work and make money hoping he would eventually fix his situation and stay but since COVID his clothes venture only kept digging him larger holes. He lived in a tiny room while depending on friends to cover food and a data plan.

He never gave up. That's good.
