The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has taken the decision to immediately revoke the approval granted to the Government of the Federative Republic of Brazil to represent the interests of the Argentine Republic and its nationals in Venezuelan territory, as well as to take custody of the facilities of the diplomatic mission, including its assets and archives, as announced in the joint statement dated August 5, 2024. This decision was notified to the states involved through diplomatic channels.

Venezuela is forced to take this decision based on the evidence it has regarding the use of the facilities of this diplomatic mission for the planning of terrorist activities and attempted assassination of the Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, and the Executive Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, by fugitives from Venezuelan justice who remained inside it.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as the receiving State, takes this measure in accordance with and in full compliance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961 and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 1963. Caracas, September 7, 2024
