Replying to Avatar jawsh

I use a Gnome Extension to add a caffeine toggle to quick settings. Turn it on when needed and you won't timeout or lock.

I usually do lock manually when I get up but I want to not have to worry if I forget it, so deactivating the auto-lock-screen is not an option.
