I thought about it when I was informed by someone that my posts were marked as inappropriate spam. They didn’t understand why that was, but I figured it out p quickly because someone else told me about the reports earlier. So let’s review:

1. My posts are not inappropriate spam, and should not be hidden or labelled as such.

2. Users clearly don’t understand how it works, except the ones that do and use it as a means to censor ppl through false spam reports.

3. Shared blocklists like fediblock and “democratic censorship” like this are cancer and shouldn’t be encouraged. Like ToxicPositivity said, spammers just create a ton of new accounts so this “feature” doesn’t actually solve the spam problem.

I think the block button is the right solution for ppl that see things they don’t like, and I feel like the spam issue could be dealt with using AI on the relays maybe, the spam posts are all very similar. But I’m not an AI expert so I dunno.

if the tools are wanted they should be created, hopefully tho people choose less censorship
