Authy defeats the purpose of offline 2FA.
Discussion
What is Authy?
Authy is an authentication app owned by Twilio that performs a similar function to Google or Microsoft Authenticator.
Google Authenticator is hot garbage.
What do you dislike about it?
Last time I used it, I nearly hosed my entire 2FA setup because my accounts didn't transfer to my new phone. Fortunately, I hadn't wiped the old one yet. Authy doesn't have this problem.
Authy is a Shitcoin.
And they don’t allow you to export. I switched over to Raivo.
I’ve setup a few passkeys on iOS and is extremely easy to use but that’s if you trust iCloud Keychain. Also using advanced data protection on iCloud and disabled access to iCloud.com. You can use a recovery key or a recovery contact. #plebchain
Yes
Are you referring to their propriety 2FA (which I would agree) or their TOTP support? If the latter, can you elaborate?
Thoughts on Bitwarden having passwords and 2FA in the same app? UX is great and it's all connected to my home server.
