How do your children help you? Genuinely trying to understand that perspective.

Wanting to protect the things I have makes me a better man. Work harder, buy more ammo, store more food, learn new skills, shoot more guns, build networks, etc

Hodl, I appreciate your voice and all but can you at least acknowledge you were speaking hyperbolically before Jimmy explains his perspective? You honestly don't think anyone has helped you? Just you?! Never met a soul who didn't need other people.

I like to ride the hyperbole and see where it takes me. Good way to find truth.

They created a deep sense of responsibility, without which I doubt I do what I've done.

So they inspire you, which of course makes sense and I feel the same way, but is that help?

In a manner of speaking, yes. If you're being strict about helping you achieve something specific, like point you toward a better tool or service, that's happened, too, but later. My son pointed me to replit, for example, which I now use to vibe code. I believe Trump asks Baron for advice about cultural trends. Many such cases.

Totally I think that’s a beautiful part of a father son relationship. The passing of the torch and the mutual respect between older sons and their fathers if the relationship is healthy. My kids are little though now and I haven’t experienced that yet.
