I have been deplatformed on TikTok before and lost two accounts there with over 1 followers between them

After that I stopped investing my energy into a platform that could take my community away without warning and no way to appeal…

I still created on X and IG out of necessity but the fear of being rugged is definitely present, and I’m so tired of renting my audience

As a creator I’m so lit up by Nostr and I’m looking forward to a future here 🧚

What if your private key is compromised? I mean, I believe the public key you can share without problem... But what if the private key falls into the hands of a third party? You have permanently lost your account? (because I believe you can't change it, right?) 🤔

This is an issue, you can’t recover/change a lost or compromised key, but this is really the same sort of responsibility as with self custody of Bitcoin. Back up and store the private key securely and don’t share it with anyone. Also be careful when testing new Nostr apps, in particular don’t enter the key directly into web applications (there are Nostr signing extensions to avoid the need for this).
