Just a Bluetooth device bro. My wife just bought me some new ones. I've had the first gen ones for like 3 or 4 years now. They still work good, just hold a charge less than they used to.

FYI, I'm not an apple person at all. Every once in a while they build something actually nice and I can get it for a good price. While I hate Apple and their ecosystem of shit, the airpods are just a Bluetooth device and they work great with my android phones and pc and when you can get them on sale, it's a good deal. Other Apple exceptions: ipod Video 5th gen.

Seems pretty conspiratorial that apple is out there collecting brain activity with airpods, (that have no way to interact with external servers) especially when paired as a Bluetooth device to an android phone with no other additional software. What's the incentive? They already have nearly half the market work phones in their pocket loaded with their os with cameras, gps, microphones and all the rest.
