Is it just me or is there a lot less rude comments on #nostr than other social platforms? I don't know if it's true or if just the lack of an algorithm keeps me from seeing it - but it's my favourite thing about this place #asknostr

You are the algorythm. Therefore when your decision is not to follow rude people, probably you will also not be shown rude content. It is a freedom of choice platform.
Lack of algorithm, rude comments don't get to engagement here, since the protocol doesn't promote engagement for advertising.
Nostr is way more chill. Less rage bait.
As long as you don't feed the trolls, there is no big-tech working behind the scenes to feed them for you ;)

I don’t use any social platforms besides WhatsApp and Nostr. I think Nostr have less rude comments because it isn’t mainstream and the community is way smaller, IMHO.

Possibly, but I think it could also be that as a niche platform there is a less broad type of person that finds their way here. Also less diversity of thought overall. Time will tell as it continues to scale!
The inability to edit/delete notes unless you know what you’re doing is a big deterrent in addition to what others mentioned.
