Nostr thoughts:

I think what’s going to be really powerful are multiple use case apps where your contact list, profiles, and relays will shape your web of trust and overall experience.

I also think too many people (big nostr fans included) are thinking of nostr (and clients) in terms of centralized services. 50 million people using nostr won’t be the same as 50 million people on Twitter. Decentralized systems are very bad at being emulating centralized systems (this is why Bitcoin is a horrible database system viewed in terms of a centralized database).

At some point I think relays are going to take a more prominent role in terms of interest/region/language/culture where people will mix match and blend.

Looking forward to being right, wrong, and overall surprised.

indeed people are not grasping the lay of the land here. the centralized services reap the full exponential benefits of the network effect by gatekeeping membership in the network. those who provide value to the nostr network will get value out proportionally. the dividends of the protocol's network effect will be paid to them.

it's going to take years and years to realize this in working software and ways of organizing things.
