Seems like Saylor does a great job at creating spaces for people to expose themselves… 1st open sats and now this party.

It’s incredibly disappointing to see adults with the capacity to understand complex problems morph into some sort of bourgeoisie around a money system that is currently destroying that model.

Bitcoin is Bitcoinin’ it was doing it before Saylor and will continue long after he’s gone… it may do folks some good to remember people are still unbanked and can’t afford eggs.

You should see how bitcoiners on nostr are seen lol

It doesn’t matter how we are perceived here… it’s an online protocol.

Bitcoiners gathering together in an expensive city at an exclusive mansion party wearing $1000’s in luxury clothing & accessories while broadcasting it online to people who (many) can’t think to dream of owning a whole coin is such an unnecessary flex.

It does matter. Social networks need people to want to come here for slight growth

What does the protocol have to do with it? There are many

Maybe? Idk. I don’t really care what people think about me being a bitcoiner on Nostr… it’s the internet and everyone has an opinion. What they think isn’t really my business.

People will come to #nostr when they want to or when they realize how important it is… it’s not my responsibility to curtail who I am or what I post solely for its growth.

The Bitcoin cult and worship will definitely be a turn off

There has to be some balance otherwise it will get stale here

I think it’s all about perspective. Every platform I’ve ever used has groups of people that care about stuff others don’t. I remember when YouTube felt so unnecessary because it was Scarlet taking a tumble and the chocolate rain kid… now it’s like one of the most important platforms that we have.

We’re still so early. People are working really hard to make #nostr more robust. That takes time but it will happen and all those who left from lack of balance will surely return.

Dumb Q

How is saylor related to open sats?

I may not be 100% right but I remember there was some drama last year where it seemed like Saylor was telling people not to donate to Opensats. I didn’t get into all the details as to what all he said but it was messy.

Ah this I do remember; moreso about him deliberately not donating to the devs/people who build the actual Bitcoin tools

Exactly… and it is crazy because those people were/are working on the very thing that helped change his trajectory from CEO of a mediocre tech company into a wealthy well respected CEO of a multi billion dollar firm.

Worst off, some of those same people still went to the party...

Sad how people sacrifice their principles in exchange for not even money, but short-lived status

Tsk. It is sad. They get the status just to do what with it??

I love a good party and I don’t see anything wrong with having or going to them. But Bitcoin influencers and companies should hold themselves to a different standard. They are influencing other people to go against everything they know about money… only so they can flaunt their wealth in the most fiat of ways.

Plebs work hard to support devs, companies, listen to podcasts, go to conferences, and stack corn. It’s insane to see the very people who claim to understand what bitcoin is act like they’re at the Oscar’s. 100K is more than Saylor, achieving elite status, or the developed world… it’s proof that bitcoin works.

People show their true selves when the opportunity presents. Some day, “stay humble,” others live it.

Shut the fuck up nigger

😂😂😂 I bet your momma’s proud.

Wow why be so awful?? Hope this is just a pro censorship bot

Only 8 followers so I don’t think most nostriches give a toss about what this account is saying

It doesn’t bother me either way 😂 it’s unfortunate but whatever 💁🏽‍♀️
