Maybe the Germans just lost their love for EVs... 🤷♂️
The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) is pure propaganda. Furthermore, the EU is distorting the market through manipulative interventions. If Chinese manufacturers faced fair competition, the streets would be full of Chinese cars. It's obvious why some people don't want that.
Good to know. Let's see if the Chinese EVs are more successful in other European countries, like Serbia or Switzerland. BYD just announced that they entered the Czech and Slovakian market (if I'm not mistaken). I think sooner or later they will have their breakthrough and will overcome the hurdles.
Some of this would be accounted for by the changeover between the old and new versions of the model Y, Tesla's best selling model .
And buying a Tesla still a far better choice than buying any European
ICE vehicle at the same price point. And a superior car to any European EV at the same price point (and probably anything above).
Fortunately Europeans can now buy very good Chinese EVs. An option denied to US Americans.

Yes. The Chinese EVs availability is growing fast in the European market. BYD announces almost daily that their cars are now available in (insert country). And they are also building factories in various European countries.
It's a shame that this option is denied to US customers.
