The ear anatomy explanation is great, thank you for that. But short and sweet and to the point correct answer is that nasal passages swelling or inflammation ( the other word for it) is mostly

Because of either cold, allergies, overworking Yourself, lack of sleep or all the above. To reduce swelling or inflammation in the nasal pharyngeal area you’d need nasal decongestants. He will most likely see immidate results with those including a reduced headache. But I still recommend going to get antibiotics if the pain is as bad as he is describing @jack

I avoid medications, including NSAIDS, as much as possible but am not averse when they are the last resort.

You have to take nsaids in large quantities every single day for a long time for it to damage the organs. Jack’s age, height, healthy lifestyle shows it’s ok to take nsaids included in either of the over the counter medicines once in a while like when needed to. You have to take over 3000 mg of nsaids In less than 24 hours everyday for it have damaging effects. Jacks over the counter medicine will probably

have a tiny Amount of nsaid maybe 500 mg. It’s ok.

I've found some herbal remedies to be very effective, like oragano oil, but not all. I wouldn't recommend something unless I've demonstrated to myself several times that it works with and not without. I agree thats not scientific, but the basis upon which I originally investigated the possibility is from what treatments were commonplace before modern pharmaceuticalls were available.

For the most part, all a doctor can do is prevent you from dying if bleeding or if lethally inflected. Everything else is done by the body and it's ability to protect and heal itself.

Yes so when @jack is all better with science based medicines and doctors save his ear and upper respiratory system, then I will allow it that you may take over and recommend something to improve his overall health maybe vitamins or something? What do you recommend?

Neither of us are in an position to take hold of his healthcare, and you must admit its more careless to prescribe medications without an exam by an experienced diagnostician than it is to recommend dietary adjustments that could have the benefit of relief.

None of the medicines I talked about are prescription based besides amoxicillin or augmentin, which where you are in the carribean aren’t prescribed. Whatever I said is over the counter recommendation, and yet it’s better than essential oils. Telling someone you care about to look up mechanism of action of drugs before taking them is teaching patients how to take care of themselves. It’s not careless since there wasn’t a prescription, I said everything you said in my insight and experience. You’re mad because I’m right lol you’ll learn one day or not idk 🤷‍♀️

This isn’t different than the 10 others telling Jack to take antibiotics for ear infection. Did they come to the carribean and examine jack?

I think if you pick a career like the essential oils and start getting upset at everyone with a lot of knowledge on medicines, nsaids and pt education then it’s not the career for you.

It’s your life, choose essential oils if you want to study those, but then don’t start having anger or animosity against people that explain science based medicine telling we should take healthcare or whatever else you said.

I have been referring to my own experience, and had in fact tried a full course of antibiotics for this particular virus in January and itnhad no effect. You can believe what you will about my emotions and motives and I won't judge you right or wrong in your recommendations. Your approaches certainly may have a positive effect in Jack's case, but given my preferences and experiences I offer an alternative that may be harmless and could even be used alongside an allopathic approach. Not everyone prefers to submit to the regulated medical profession every time they have an earache.

@jack please read mechanism

Of action (MOA) of nasal decongestants and antibiotics mentioned. Hope you feel better love 💕 let me know if there’s anything I can do for you 💋
