Bitcoin is more clearly defined than math. The protocol isn’t special. It’s what it means to humans that make it special.

Bitcoin plays to a quirk of human nature which is called 'Theory of Mind' - we can surmise what another might believe, whether it is true or false, and act accordingly.
It's also consistent with Interface Theory of Perception (ITP). For example, a cup is just a lump of matter, until we perceive it as a cup and know what to do with it. Bitcoin is no different than that cup which we believe can hold water.
