Is WoS still not recommended on #nostr? It was so easy, but I deleted it, after draining out all my few Sats 丰 , and moved on to several other wallets. What was the deal with it in the US that caused #Nostr to recommend against its use, back in the summer of ‘23, I can’t remember?

We can’t use it in USA bc the devs were scared of uncertain USA regulations.
I fully support custodial lightning like WoS bc users don’t have to worry about managing liquidity which is basically a full time job. WoS is great and I miss it. Not having it in USA is holding back Lightning adoption.

There are 8 billion ppl on earth. How will they all self custody? There have only been ~1 billion bitcoin transactions in history.

I agree. So there are some exceptions for self custodying. You can do it as a group. Group self custody. I like it
I think the delineation here is are you using a nameless, faceless custody solution or someone you know and trust. Whether you do the custody or you have someone custody for you, knowing where someone sleeps keeps people honest.
I agree. Wallet of Satoshi is a fine option for sats for zapping or small purchases. I would not recommend it for storing generational wealth. WoS is a good tool for onboarding newbs even tho it’s suboptimal in terms of transparency. 🤝

I've had a lightning node up for 10 months and haven't touched a single channel. I do have a sizable node and channels so maybe that has something to do with it but I see people say it's a full time job all the time.
