What is value for value? We've been speaking about this economic model for a year now on Nostr. It's hard for a lot of people outside the economy to understand it if you're not experiencing it. Last night's events were the best teaching moments and examples of this model that we've seen. The concert beautifully highlighted the needs for Bitcoin and Nostr.

Two independent creators received almost 19M sats for their work. We exchanged hard money for their entertainment. We showed them their value. We valued their time, their talents, and their efforts. It was beautiful.

We're building a value for value bitcoin based circular economy here on Nostr and we're only just getting started. I can't wait to see what we do next.

How should we introduce creators to best practices for custodying the bitcoin the earn? Cause it’s definitely not a good idea to keep millions of sats sitting in an Alby wallet especially with the recent crackdown on non-kyc custodial lightning wallets. Even simply moving it over to Cash App would be a little better imo.

Cash App seems like a good first step cause you can easily send to Cash App from Alby using lightning. From there they can easily convert sats to USD as needed and spend the funds using the debit card.

Cash App should enable the cashtag as a Lightning address. Unfortunately, it still won’t be available in the regions they don’t serve.

I meant that we need Cash App to broadcast zap receipts when people receive zaps to their Cash App lightning address. The #v4v live streams require that in order for artists to get paid directly and for the streams to be fun.

Click the icon on the top right of the Bitcoin screen to send a lightning payment. Click the button to the right of the sell button to generate an invoice.

That’s my point. If it’s supposed to be unified, mine isn’t. The flow I see is to enter an amount to send (with a 5k sat minimum displayed as “0.00005 BTC”), then enter and address. No LNUrl/LN Address support.

Cash App is brilliant for USD, but I no longer bother for Bitcoin. Strike is the clear winner for a fully regulated/KYC’d wallet.

You’re correct about both of those things.

That 5k sats limit is too low and something that we’re working to remove, especially for lightning when using the send flows.

As part of our nostr work, sending and receiving is on deck, but not there yet, so you can’t send to lightning addy or LNURL. It’s something we all want to see happen and are working hard to do so.

The workaround for sending 1 sat or more is to tap the QR button at the top of the applet and the paste or scan an invoice.

I also prefer Strike, but I think a lot of creators might already have Cash App. For now, I’d recommend creators to create a Strike account if the app is available to them and use Strike lightning addresses on nostr.
