I'm part of a loose consortium of Bitcoin Meetup organizers, myself included, have turned down a few people who wanted to donate because we don't have a real good mechanism to do it with. The issue is about starting a foundation as a one stop donate to all kind of thing for the people who want to help.
They want to help so we should let them. That's proper. A board or directors would decide how the funds get distributed.
However, I would like to do it as a fedimint. That would sort of connect all the major population centers in the state. But, that would mean that us guardians, would hold the keys for so many people. I really want to do this because it's good for the entire state. But at the same time, that puts a lot of the power in the hands of six seven people. I can handle the responsibility. The question is a moral one. Is it ethical for me to push for this?
I know what I'm doing. I am ready for the fight. I know their attack vector and, it will be that of morality. I'm not sure I will disagree with all their words. I need to answer these questions for myself, before I start.
