This is the Pyramid of Amenemhat III at Hawara, located near the Faiyum Oasis in Egypt.
It was built during Egypt’s 12th Dynasty, around 1855 BCE, as the final resting place of Pharaoh Amenemhat III, one of the greatest rulers of the Middle Kingdom. Once a grand pyramid, time, erosion, and the collapse of its limestone casing have left it in a ruined, mound-like state.

In the image, the structure appears as a massive eroded core surrounded by desert sands, giving it a rugged, natural look rather than the sharp geometry of intact pyramids.
Nearby remains include traces of the famed “Labyrinth” described by ancient historians like Herodotus and Strabo, said to have been a vast mortuary temple complex with thousands of rooms.
Although much of it has been lost, excavations revealed intricate tombs and artifacts, highlighting its importance in ancient Egyptian architecture and history.
