Without looking at the actual age of John Tyler, son, and grandson, this would mean the average time alive between the 3 of them would be 77 (233/3) at the moment.

Not crazy at all. It indeed seemed mindblowing at first though.

True but the women who birthed them were undoubtedly a lot younger than their husbands. All it took from these guys was to impregnate someone at their old age. After that was done, I'm guessing the women would do most of the raising aspect from there on out, as I wouldn't expect these elderly men to be able to do much anymore.
