I just realized, feel like Ithought of this before but I realized again:

Statist democracy is like a compromise with the devil, where we let our masters and rapists take turns stealing from us and killing people. Unfortunately, that only incentivizes them to get all their murders and spending of the public wallet done more quickly, increasing time preference as the result of a short time horizon. So they do a sloppy job of raping us and before we can even know who to blame, they're out and onto the next rapist.
