Bandcamp fixes this.

No, really, I don't know why people don't use Bandcamp more. I understand if your favorites aren't there, but you'd be surprised if you like stuff that's not mainstream.

What's funny is that even the mainstream artists would do better on Bandcamp, considering the fact that megafans can buy their music on Bandcamp Fridays and give 100% of that money to the artists.

And at a consumer level, Bandcamp gives you unlimited streams of music you purchase and you can download the files in various lossless and lossy formats. Not to mention the fact that they support purchases of physical copies (CD, vinyl, even casette or MiniDisc in some cases) and merch.

Everyone wins with Bandcamp, it's why I purchase either from there or direct from the band on physical formats (after which I rip the audio to my PC in FLAC, then convert to MP3 to put on my phone).
