A .bit can do everything that a .eth address can do and Namecoin is 100% more secure than Ethereum.

Ethereum is a scam. I was disappointed when I visited the website and saw a mention of these things.

I see how it can be a turnoff for Bitcoiners however.

Perhaps we'll change the line.

What do you think of the idea of packaging NCDNS with a Nostr client?

Namecoin is an incredibly respectable project that was discussed by Satoshi to be a valid reason for having a separate blockchain.

Namecoin is lean, had a fair distribution, is open sourced, has ~60% of Bitcoin's hashrate, and was built for decentralized DNS and ID.

We've integrated a light Namecoin client to our Nostr client Nymble so that users can have an uncensorable name/wallet/domain address where their entire history of notes can reside. Right now, you need to have $NMC to register/configure/renew names but in future versions, we will have it such that users wont have to fiddle around with $NMC at all and they'll be able to pay for everything with BTC through LN in a trustless setup.

We're really excited to be releasing the product in the coming days.
