St. Walpurga was the niece of St. Boniface who helped him convert the Germans. 2 saint brothers, both of whom left her as abbess of their monasteries when they died. Her bones produce healing oil to this day. Very interesting saint and much more is known than what I’ve summarized. Her canonization day is May 1 and celebration of her replaced Beltaine in Celtic and Germanic cultures. The practice is to have bonfires to ward off evil.
