I think some people think the UK is turning dystopian just for like “right wing” groups or something.

It’s what pisses me off about the left with these things, particularly bitcoin. They think it doesn’t apply to them.

Guess what? The UK was also arresting and rounding up climate activists who were posting on social media about protests!! That’s nuts! More and more lefties and occupy types are going to keep learning the need for bitcoin, privacy, and nostr…and I’ll be here to help 🤙🏻

One problem with this belief is that it leads them often to champion the censorship. Everyone should be appalled by censorship. I don’t like when it happens to people I hate, because I know I’m next.

The amount of times I talk to my left/progressive friends about the Canadian trucker protest and I’m like THEY CAN DO THAT TO YOU YOO.

Insanity. I know I may be a minority, idk (I mean hell I’m on nostr, so there’s that and I’m still a bit of an old school progressive with those things)

I like what libs were 20 years ago. I was liberal then myself. I see very little classical liberal beliefs on the left anymore.

exactly right. those that refuse to go beyond surface logic always slide towards authoritarianism. those without real principles.

This belief also leads them to be more invested in politics/elections to ensure their side wins and is not the victim of censorship and oppression, thus deepening the political divide.
