Why look for ways to encourage people to get more likes though? Theyโ€™re worthless. It would be better to encourage new users to post and engage in ways that actually earn real value from others.

While I do agree with that, people are used to likes, coming from other platforms. When I get 25 reactions but see only 1, I easily get the impression this place is not worth my time as nobody interacts with me, notices my content etc, and go back to Bluesky/Xitter/Zuckerberg.

Right, but the people that care about likes on Xitter/IG/Tiktok care about them because they can become eligible for monetizing on those platforms. Likes have nothing to do with monetization here. Theyโ€™re pointless bullshit metrics here, and itโ€™s meaningless to encourage their use here.

Really? I don't know. When I do a shitpost and it gets 20 likes I at least know it was recognized. Doesn't have to do anything with monetization.

Depends on the person I guess. Youโ€™re living under a rock though if you think most people who are serious about using social media these days arenโ€™t thinking about monetization in some form.

I some what agree and somewhat disagree.

But I agree more with your content, less with your lack off acceptance for how bad the sheeple are. But do we really want them here anyway?
