Send it sideways....put in an arch for it to go across. You can wrap string round the leading stems and send it anywhere if you can tie the string to something

You don't need to string them up and pinch out side shoots. Sometimes I put them in and let them ramble and don't prune anything. There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods.
