We are renovating an almost 60 year old bathroom in our house and time and time again as we are demoing I think “They don’t make things like they used too.” Cast iron pipes, dense wood in the framing, thick cement slabs and even the drywall is really hard. I’m certain nothing we are replacing these things with will last almost 60 years. Fiat strikes again.

I’ve done one of those. Heaviest bathroom construction ever. Only thing I think isn’t as good as some options today MIGHT be the tubs. Those 1inch tiles are indestructible. Congrats on the new bathroom. Hope your contractors are worthy.

Oh yeah I agree with the tubs. There is a cast iron one in one of the other bathrooms and it’s a tank.
