Although I was clear on your point of view that what is self-custody are the Ecash units within that system.

I think the advantage of fedimint is that suppose there is series of 11 transactions, One after the another and during my first transaction I exchanged my Bitcoin with eCash and rest 10 transactions are happening through eCash. Then I have taken the risk only during my first transaction.

On the other hand , if I am doing all my 11 transaction on lightning then there is a risk of custodial transaction every time.
