Why?

The longer you use something, "the cheaper" it is on a monthly basis.

Only if you consider it as a mandatory cost. This means you consider this item as one if breaks you will have to replace it.

Therefore you can calculate a cost/month or cost/year for it. This can be lower for products selected by concentrating on price vs quality.

Extra tip: Only replace products when they are unusable. Of course use common sense and e.g.: do not use a toothbrush for 10 years.
