Dune is orders of magnitude greater than Star Wars. Like you said, not the same universe.
I mean when 6 out of 9 movies are absolute garbage 🤷🏾
I mean the original 3 are really good. Cult classics even. But Dune is incredible
Dune is based on a great book & they stayed pretty close to it.
That’s why it & LOTR will always be better than Star Wars. Star Wars doesn’t really hold up anymore. It’s kind of shit.
And also didn’t the original Star Wars take some cues from Dune (the book) ? Tatooine is pretty much the sand world in Dune. It just looks better in the new Dune movies.
Yes LOTR is also incredible. Adapting great books, especially for big sci-fi worlds is always a great idea.

I've just finished reading Dune Messiah (sequel to Dune). Thought it was OK, but a big drop off from the first book. Should I keep reading the others in the series?
The quality drop of that show was drastic, when they ran out of the book material.
