I fear too many of the Bitcoin crowd fail to appreciate what's really at stake here. A lot of them don't talk about anything else, so they've never had to deal with actual censorship, which is why they can talk about "walking away" from Twitter in the Year of Our Lord 2023.

Fortunately I'm not sure it matters though. Worst case scenario is that it devolves into a network of ghettos like the Fedi. It'd be nice to have a single, open communication platform with a strong free-speech culture though.

a network of gettos is hard on nostr to occur as the content is self sovereign, the problem currently is people finding others than want plus clients backing up and restoring content perhaps automatically

Yes, even the worst case scenario seems more censorship-resistant than the Fedi.

nostr can become more censorship resistant as clients can find and use all relays, become p2p etc
