The importance of being able to run a node long into the future whenever the size of the ledger is much larger. Not being ok with arbitrary data now because it doesn’t effect anything but not thinking of what it will look like with 100 or 1000 years of arbitrary data on it.

Example the way Saylor proposes to store his DID info instead of using something like op return.
