Bitcoin Core We 20 in won't using be years

Why? What instead?

Due to linear growth in chain size and the manner in which Core validates sequentially, it will halt at some point.

Alternative architectures such as #libbitcoin which scale with hardware will be necessary.

Sorry I don’t get it. Maybe you can educate me. What’s the point with cores validation? What is lib bitcoin and what do they do differently?

Sequential validation = validating one by one. This will not keep up with chain growth

Scalability is defined as increasing performance by adding more hardware. Think of adding a larger network card to get more bandwidth, or a bigger GPU to perform more AI calculations.

Software has to be architected to benefit from adding more hardware. This is not possible with Core, albeit marginal improvement from processor speeds.

Libbitcoin's database is designed to be fully parralelizable. Hence why it is able to sync the full chain in under an hour. Add more hardware, get better results. Scalability.
