I just finished install 3" wide copper tape around 3 of my 4 outdoor garden beds. I'll see if this makes for any noticeable reduction in slugs next year. They were bad this past year.

My approach, inspired by Charles Dowding and permaculture, has been to eliminate slug habitat. Wood boards edging beds seems to be one of their favorite spots. I also keep the beds mulched with compost instead of organic matter, since they'll hide under it and use it as a food source.
