2nd attempt. All drawn freehand apart from the hint of the red sole which was done in a vector layer. Even after a fair amount of time spent making small adjustments, I still don't quite like the heel cup. I had been hoping to emphasise the shape of the arch with the text box but even though this is a shape within a vector layer, I can't seem to find a way to modify the shape and have the text follow it? I had been hoping to imply some shape to the toe by using shading but that's beyond me right now; something for future efforts.
