From around 9 AM today, a crowd in groups of 50 gathered in front of the Lordegan Governor's Office, starting to chant disruptive slogans.

The crowd gradually increased, and after a few minutes, incited by some trained “masked” individuals, some began throwing stones at administrative buildings in the city, including the Governor's Office, the city prayer hall, the Martyrs Foundation, the Municipality building, and banks.

• Police officers and security forces immediately arrived at the scene and warned the rioters to stop their actions, but some began throwing stones at the police forces.

In response, the police dispersed the crowd. Among the rioters, some were seen carrying weapons.

After the police reaction, some rioters in the crowd started shooting at the police forces, injuring several officers.

Some rioters reportedly moved around in unregistered vehicles, distributing weapons and ammunition to the rioters from inside the cars.

• From around 11 AM, some Lordegan residents entered the scene in support of the police and clashed with the rioters.

The rioters began burning tires and attempted to set fire to some buildings; they severely damaged the Martyrs Foundation, the prayer hall, the Governor's Office, the judiciary building, and several banks.

In these clashes, several people on both sides were injured, and a reliable source to Fars reports that several people have died during the confrontations.

The police has arrested several ringleaders of the rioters, including some non-local individuals.
