Many public relays are slow too to be clear, don’t want to selectively throw shade.

I just think people assume that a paid relay means it’s faster when in a lot of cases they are less experienced relay operators running something plug and play on a very small VPS.

Personally, I’m not a fan of people selling services they can’t maintain but it’s early and expectations are low.

I’m going to stay away from paid relay recommendations at least for now. Definitely a few I used to recommend that have not been so great lately.

I can confidently recommend #[3] as a relay operator. They run the public relays nos.lol and nostr.mom. Public relays have a lot more challenges when it comes to spam and performance but they are a knowledgeable operator that I expect to be around for a long time.
