The only attack vector for #bitcoin is Bitcoin Core developers — a small group of individuals with the authority to approve (merge) code changes and make final decisions on the Bitcoin Core implementation, which accounts for 98% of all nodes.

"B-but you don't have to update." — Bro, then why are people crying about inscriptions, labeling them as "spam", and advocating for censoring transactions? You all allowed it, it's part of the protocol now. Shit like this will happen again in the future if changes continue to be made.

Stop this madness. Ossify the base layer.

No. We can't ossify the base layer because that's not how software works. Software needs to be maintained.

Is Taproot considered part of software maintenance in your opinion? It was an upgrade to the protocol, not some minor bugfix/optimization.

I'd say it wasn't. But taproot wasn't just created and supported by the Devs who work on core. Most of these upgrades are proposed by other community members
