I can’t get beyond the conclusion I need to get off iOS and on to Graphene. If social media companies owning your data is a problem how come more aren’t concerned about Apple? The government doesn’t need backdoors into encrypted services, it just needs a cooperative friend in Apple; who seem increasingly less privacy focussed. Graphene here I come 🤙

Have you looked at CalyxOS too? Been asking local phone shops if they have a pixel for sale for a wee while now, no dice

I’m still concerned that Graphene only runs on Google hardware. Talk about the potential for backdoors. Apple is/was? primarily a hardware company. Google is and always has been a data company, any, all, public and private. Chrome has some recent baked in goodies that are a certified privacy nightmare. Rather than linking resources I’ll just illuminate the entrance to the warren.

I’m enterprises to meet you

there is no perfect solution but diversifying hardware and software away from a monoculture of apple at least means you are no longer the lowest hanging 🍏
