Shill me your recommendation for an industrial x86 mini/micro form factor PC. I’ll be using it as a Bitcoin node among other things.

#[1] any suggestions for this?

Some fanless intel

Could build yourself a mini-ITX pc

I’d prefer the fan-less approach that @NVK mentioned.

Btw, older Mac minis also make great cheap nodes

Great prices

What kind of software do you install? Just bitcoin core? Or a mac alternative to mynode-ish software?

OSX+bitcoin core

I tried this but didn’t have enough hard drive space. Can you run it alongside an external drive?

I bought a 5 year old dell optiplex micro with 1tb ssd and 24gb ram for 170$. Hard to beat that. Havent tried the mac mini yet though.

I’m a big fan of these Lenovo tiny clients (bottom). Unusually can be had for about $100 bucks with a current-ish intel i5 and a easily upgradeable ram and storage…

Refurbed dell optiplex micros are a dime a dozen on ebay and amazon. Can get 1tb ssd / 16gb ram for under 200$.

Oh this is the stuff I’m looking for. Ty Ser.

Wow those are expensive!
